My plans to create this experience have become costly and, unfortunately, more than I can manage on my own at this time. So I am asking for your help!
In hopes of transporting the viewer to untouched locations and environments, the Spectrum will immerse the viewers into scenes unknown.
My name is Cade Kegerreis. I am an artist born and raised in Waco, Texas. I have been a full-time artist, creator, muralist, etc., since graduating with an art degree from Baylor University in 2017. I have my second upcoming "solo exhibition" at Cultivate7Twelve on Austin Ave. in downtown Waco (712 Austin Ave.). The process and ideation of this show have been happening for two years now, shortly following my first solo show at the start of Covid-19.
If you weren't able to see my first exhibition: "Devolved: Unity through Evolution, Diversity, and Connection," this is the link: Devolved Series
This series of work aimed to both visually tell and attempt to explain an overview of the history, including and predating humans. The vision was just as much to educate as to express my artistry.
The first time exhibiting a body of work for a public audience, especially with such a deep narrative and extensive goal attached, allowed me to learn and grow through the experience beyond my expectations.
Before the Devolved show opened, a date had already been set for my next unveiling. A lot has changed since that date was set. It has come quickly, but it also feels like a different time entirely. Now that things are seemingly normal again with public interactions, I am excited to present what I hope will change how Wacoans view art and its possibilities in our city. This show is ultimately a sequel to my first, though removing the elements of human implications. In hopes of transporting the viewer to untouched locations and environments, the Spectrum will immerse the viewers into scenes and elements seemingly unknown.
My plans to create this experience have become costly and, unfortunately, more than I can manage on my own at this time. So I am asking for your help! A simple answer could be to charge for the show to help cover expenses, but that goes against the accessibility I am trying to offer. I want anyone to be able to experience this, regardless of their ability to financially. Your support would allow the public to enjoy something special.
It is difficult to ask for specific things or reveal the full plans without losing the essence of surprise, so I feel like I am walking a thin line asking for help. Your trust and patronage would mean the world.
Below is a simplified list of the "attractions":
Custom multi-tiered table build with flora from various climates
Immersive color spectrum cone
270° panoramic projection room
Paintings and 3D work
The funds raised will be going directly to the purchasing of required materials, items, and services to bring this to life.
